DESCRIPTION:Auditions for Metro Dancers’\nChildren\, Adult\, Character\nSaturday\, January 10\, 2026\nPortland Metro Arts\n9003 SE Stark\, Portland\nMetroDancers@PDXMetroArts.org          503-408-0604 \nMetro Dancers is pleased to present the highly acclaimed comedy ballet classic La Fille Mal Gardee. Set in the sixteenth century\, this ballet romps through the timeless entanglements of love and marriage.  Delight in the antics of parents\, lovers and neighbors as they create order out of chaos and see what has changed regarding events of the heart-and what has not!  Beautiful costumes\, sets and music. \nAuditions are open to anyone\, regardless of where they received their training.  We are casting for principals\, supporting characters\, as well as adult\, children’s\, intermediate and advanced dancing roles and non-dancing Supernumeraries. \n1:00-2:30pm   Auditions for Lower Division dancers (level 1 & 2)\nPerformers must be at least six years old and have a minimum of one year of dance experience. \n2:30-4:00pm   Auditions for Intermediate & Advanced Dancers (level 3 & 4)\nWe will be casting for principal dancers and intermediate to advanced corps parts.  Women auditioning for principal roles should bring their pointe shoes.  Men should have some performance experience.  No individually prepared material will be required. \nFeatured Roles being cast at this audition:\nLise-a young girl\nColas-a young farm worker\nFriends of Lise-four women\nFriends of Colas-four men\nVillage girls-four women \nCharacter Roles  These parts require acting as well as dancing.  Those wishing to be considered for these roles should attend the appropriate dance audition and express their interest in a character part\, at that time \, on their audition slip.  Roles  being cast are: \nMother Simone\, greedy mother of Lise\nTomas\, wealthy landowner\nMrs. Tomas\, overprotective mother of Alain\nAlain\, idiot son \nSupernumeraries & Mini-Supers Those interested in “walk-on” parts in the group scenes need only send us an email with your interest that includes all basic contact information.  Mini-Supers are 4-6 year-olds who will be escorted onstage by their own adult.  Please include child’s information as well as that of their designated adult in your email. \nPerformance Dates\nMay 14-15\, 2027 \nSave time on audition day and fill out an audition form
