Our arts programs are offered at various satellite locations throughout the community. We have afterschool classes onsite at public and private schools throughout the community. By bringing our arts programs to satellite locations we can better serve a broader spectrum of the community. Click Here for a listing of our current after-school offerings.
Our arts enrichment programs complement the standard school curriculum and enable students to work with professional artists skilled in each of the four disciplines. These successful outreach programs encourage parents, students, teachers and artists to work together towards a creative learning environment. We have residency workshops specifically tailored to meet Social Studies Curriculum for Grades 1-5 and provide a dynamic vehicle for bringing history, literature, and current events to life. Metro Dancers is offering a special field trip opportunity - a just for kids ballet performance of...
Coppelia is a highly acclaimed comic ballet classic. Our wonderful version, as staged by Joanna Kneeland, is madcap farce involving an eccentric inventor, the animated doll he creates and the havoc they cause in their small village. Music, costumes, sets and the dancers’ skill combine to make this a performance event you will not want to miss. In this exciting interpretation of Coppelia, we have not only great dancing but also great theatre. The original production was so popular on the stage that it was made into an award-winning motion picture featuring Walter Slezak. This funny and fast paced story is the perfect first ballet for novices of all ages and is a bright new perspective for those already familiar with the ballet.
Every group receives an activities packet, radio drama CD and other curriculum support. This ballet is appropriate for all ages of students from Kindergarten on up.
