PMA is a nonprofit arts organization that operates on the belief that study of the arts contributes greatly to student achievement and success. Our mission is to provide everyone an opportunity to learn, perform and experience the arts.

Our classes provide focused, personal attention from the instructor.  We see students as individuals and work with students  to meet their artistic goals.  While we realize that not all students wish to pursue a career in the arts, we provide all students with excellent quality training that will allow them to progress as far as they wish.  Our staff is also trained in CPR and First Aid procedures.

Our instructors not only have mastery of the technical aspects of their art but are highly trained in teaching methods as well. Each teaching artist has years of training and is certified in their area of expertise as well as considerable professional experience.

We have inviting classroom, studio and performance spaces that provide a beautiful setting for our programs.  We are constantly improving or facilities and opportunities for students and the community.

With easy access to light-rail, bus and freeway connections from all directions; our broad choice of classes, days and times can suit your schedule. Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts classes available concurrently in same building.  PMA provides a one-stop arts programming for the family, saving you time and travel hassles.

*No Extra Fees

There are no expensive costumes, additional private lessons or competition fees to pay or fundraise for. In addition, PMA students receive free and discount tickets to a variety of performances each season.

As a non-profit arts organization, we have been providing our community with quality arts education and performance programs for over 50 years.

TriMet No. 15 bus (West-bound on Stark St.) literally stops at our front corner, at 90th & Stark. The East-bound bus stops only one block away, on 90th & Washington St.

Located in SE Portland, our building is readily accessible to people from all over the tri-county area and SW Washington, because of the easy access to light-rail, bus, and freeway.
