La Fille Mal Gardee (The Poorly Guarded Girl): Comedy and chaos ensue when a mother and daughter disagree over who the daughter’s husband should be. In this Old-World style ballet you will see a bit of the absurd: a gaggle of spinning chickens, a dancing maze of ribbons, and watch out for flying apples when the mother gets mad! Music, costumes, sets, and dancers’ skill combine to make this a performance event you won’t want to miss!
Jean Dauberval’s La Fille Mal Gardee is the perfect way to add arts enrichment to your curriculum, and give your students the experience of classic ballet. With its clear cast of characters, story, and humor, kids of all ages will be able to follow the action and get wrapped up in the tale!
