Once Upon a TIme Auditions – Wizard of Oz

 Join Dorothy on her wild adventure through the Magical Land of Oz where she will meet new friends and foes. This silly and imaginative take on the classic story will have you wishing you could follow along right down that yellow brick road, but as you all know there truly is no place like home.  With its themes of friendship, courage, and the importance of home, this production offers a magical experience that leaves a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

Most roles can be played by actors of any gender (some roles are more masculine coded while others are more feminine)

Aunt Em: (voice only) (doubles as Glinda) Dorothy’s mother figure
Neighbor: (voice only) (doubles as wicked witch) Dorothy’s mean neighbor loves to argue
Dorothy: Dorothy is a young girl who does not back down from danger.
Toto: Dorothy’s loyal dog (most likely played by a stuffed animal will only be an actor if we have extra people and somebody really wants the role)
Glinda: a kindhearted witch, always trying to be helpful
Wicked Witch: an overdramatic villain
Scarecrow: friendly, cheerful, good leader and thinker when under pressure.
Tinman: Chivalrous, kindhearted, charming, and brave
Lion: a big scary cat, very indecisive and riddled with anxiety
Wizard: rude and condescending with a strong presence, but a big con artist and coward despite initial appearances.
Monkey 1: works for the witch, enjoys the chaos she causes.
Monkey 2: only works for the witch because they are scared, has a soft heart

Plus, multiple ensemble roles including (Munchkins, tress, poppies? The tornado? Extra monkeys, etc..) Some roles may play other parts as long as both characters don’t have to be on stage together its fine. For example, the Wizard could also play a Munchkin since they never interact.
