Each season, in early February, PMA Musical Theatre presents an engaging production with a seasonal theme. Our repertory includes an adaptation of the classic Babes in Toyland and two original works, Winter in the Willows and The Tale of McGregor’s Farm. These enchanting musical productions provide a wonderful performance opportunity for actors, singers and dancers of many ages and a delightful moment at the theatre for the entire community. Auditions are generally held at the end of October. PMA Musical Theatre is a joint program Portland Metro Arts Music and Theatre Departments.
2024-25 Season
The Tale of McGregor’s Farm
The Tale of McGregor’s Farm is an exciting new musical inspired by the beloved stories and characters of Beatrix Potter. Set to take audiences on a whimsical journey, this production invites you to step into the enchanting world crafted by Potter’s imagination. Prepare for a captivating adventure as delightful musical performances transport you to a vibrant landscape filled with charm and nostalgia.
This original production offers a fresh narrative that intertwines the classic tales we know and love, featuring iconic figures such as Peter Rabbit, Benjamin Bunny, Jemima Puddleduck, and many others. Each character, brought to life with vibrant costumes and engaging performances, will evoke laughter, joy, and a sense of wonder in both children and adults alike.
As the story unfolds, you’ll witness the adventures and mischief that these cherished characters embark upon. The stage will be adorned with beautifully crafted sets that mimic the lush English countryside, creating an immersive atmosphere. The musical score, infused with catchy tunes and heartfelt ballads, will resonate with audiences, ensuring that the magic of Beatrix Potter’s world is felt long after the final curtain falls.
