Quality Care with an Artistic Flair

The teachers’ union for Portland Public Schools is set to strike beginning on November 1st. Portland Metro Arts is committed to supporting our PPS families during this time, and will be providing full-day care to students for the duration of the strike.

As there is no way to know how long schools will be closed, we will charge childcare fees on a per-day basis. Care will cost $60/day for most students, and $50/day for students enrolled in our After-School Arts Club program. We are happy to work with families to create a payment plan to cover these costs over a longer period of time.

Each day we will offer engaging art lessons for students, as well as academic time to keep up with essential skills like reading, writing, and math. If your student has any school work that they have been assigned, or if they are reading a particular book, please have them bring it!

Students should also bring a water bottle, jacket or sweatshirt for outdoor time, a lunch and at least two snacks.
