Performance opportunities are an important part of our dance program at PMA. Students have several chances to perform throughout the year; Dance Mosaic, Little Nutcracker Workshop, Choreographers’ Showcase, our full length Ballet in the spring, and the Spring Dance Showcases.

Little Mozarts Keyboards: Onward and Upward!

In October, our Little Mozarts keyboard class completed the first level of their musical journey and have advanced to level two! The students are buzzing with excitement as they continue to delve into the world of piano. This next stage will see them exploring new keys, specifically F and G, and mastering the art of playing with both hands in the same song. Stay tuned for more updates on their musical adventures

PMA Celebrates National Art Day

On October 25, PMA took the opportunity to celebrate National Visual Art Day and artist Pablo Picaso by offering a free art project for all comers. We felt it was  the perfect time to celebrate the artist within each of us!

Our doors are open to all who wish to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of art. With classes for all ages, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Classes are on-going, so it’s never too late to join. Let Portland Metro Arts be the place where you find and celebrate your unique artistic voice. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Italian Dinner Fundraiser

Feast on delights from local gems like Olive Garden, Flying Pie Pizza, Stark Street Pizza, and more! It’s a deliciously fun way to fuel our programs. Culinary magic starts at 4:30pm, right between the showstoppers!

Come See Your Artists in Action

Get ready to snap and share your way through our visitor’s week! Parents are invited to visit any of their artist’s group classes. Bring along your loved ones and curious buds to see our classes in action. You can even whip out your camera or video recorder to capture the magic! Just remember to be respectful of the class and keep the social media sharing for later.

The Winter Recital is almost here! Mark your calendars for Friday of Visitor’s Week, Dec. 19th, at 7pmn and is free.

Student recitals spotlight young musical talent, sparking motivation and setting goals for practice. Performing boosts confidence, helping conquer stage fright. Families can cheer on their young stars, creating heartwarming memories. Our Winter Recital promises to be a relaxed showcase of each student’s progress, like a heartwarming “report card” for proud parents and friends.

Dance Mosaic Performances

November 22nd at 3PM and 7PM

Experience a captivating dance performance by local icons and renowned choreographers on Saturday, November 18th, at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at 9003 SE Stark Street. The Metro Dancers, featuring a mix of emerging and seasoned dancers, will showcase a range from traditional ballet to innovative movements. The troupe aims to deliver high-quality performances while providing thrilling experiences for audiences.

Remember, registered PMA students get a free ticket!

SECOND SATURDAY VOLUNTEERS

Come to our work party on October 11th from 10am-2pm.

This month we will be working  in the dressing rooms cleaning and organizing costumes and landscaping

You don’t have to be a master craftsman or seamstress to help out around PMA. Volunteering at PMA offers a unique opportunity to engage with a vibrant community and support the development of young artists. Ongoing volunteer opportunities include assisting with costume sewing or organizing, for upcoming productions, or helping with facility maintenance.

Dive into the artsy fun with us! This Thanksgiving week, PMA is hosting a snazzy 3-day version of our beloved 4 Arts camp! Young creatives will get a taste of Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts, while exploring the magic of abundance, gratitude, and nature’s seasonal splendor!

Got a camper in a regular PMA class? No worries, we’ll have them there right on the dot. Just pack them a lunch, a water bottle, and a couple of healthy snacks to keep their creative juices flowing!

Little Nutcracker Workshop
    & Half-a-Nut

December 29-31
Stretch your holiday cheer all the way to the grand Nutcracker extravaganza! Dive into the magic with dancers of all ages and skill levels to craft a unique spin on this beloved tale, performed for family and friends at the camp’s grand finale.

Little Nutcracker Workshop
Join the full-day adventure for budding dancers aged six to twelve, from beginners to intermediates. Sign up by December 15th to snag a sweet 15% discount on tuition!

Half A Nut
For our tiniest twinkle-toes, there’s a chance to dazzle in the Snow and Waltz of the Flowers dances. It’s a delightful way for them to step into the holiday classic spotlight. A special performance for family and friends wraps up the camp joyfully!
