It is the philosophy of Metro Dancers to provide not only professional quality performance opportunities for dancers, but excellent family-oriented dance concerts for the public. Metro Dancers also provides an avenue for many local school children to experience the world of dance through our full-length ballet performances just for kids, including Alice in Wonderland and Les Ruses d’Amour which will be performed Spring 2024.
Metro Dancers was formed in 1977 to create an avenue for gifted advanced dancers to perform traditional full-length ballets, as well as modern, jazz, character, and contemporary ballet pieces. We draw dancers and audiences from throughout the Portland metro area. The combination of rising pre-professionals and former professional dancers gives this company its exuberant style and polish.
Portland Metro Arts is a nonprofit arts center and school that has been providing quality arts education in Portland since 1952.
